Frequently Asked Questions

You have questions, we have answers. Here are some of our most asked questions from applicants

How long does the season go? Do I have to work the entire season to qualify for employment?

Our season start's mid April and doesn't stop until mid October. Ideal candidates can work for the entire season but many of our hires work May-Aug/Sept. Depending on our hire's dates, we can split a season such as March-July or July-October.

My friend wants to apply, can we room together in housing?

Yes! We have had many friends, siblings, and cousins apply at the same time and share a room in our housing. It's a win win for both if us.

I'm married or have a partner and need housing with my spouse.

In order for partners/spouses to be considered for housing, they both must work for our company. We have very limited housing options for couples so we recommend you apply early for the best chance of securing housing.

Are Pets allowed in your housing?

We do not allow pets or animal in our housing.

What are the typical hours/shifts I would work?

Full time hires will work 40 hours a week, 5 days a week. Most shifts start between 8am to 11am and end 5pm to 8pm. Depending on what location you work at, you may work the early shift or the late shift. There are no graveyard shifts.

When is the best time to apply?

You can apply anytime but our hiring process begins early January and goes until we have filled all positions.

What about pay?

Our pay range $16-$18 an hour, depending on experience.

What type of things do I need when I move there for the summer? How do I prepare?

If you are hired, we send out a document that is packed full of information about what to expect when you move to Skagway for the season. In the meantime, here is a great guide created by the residents and municipality of Skagway about relocating to Skagway.
